Calling Jane Austen
We were at a friend's house yesterday, and their 12-year-old daughter was reading Pride and Prejudice - not for school, just for fun. She asked my wife if she had read it, and my wife replied that she did, but probably about 20 years ago.
"It's that old?" the girl asked.
Apparently she thought it was just written about the old days, not in the old days. I guess that says something good about the book... not sure what it says about the kid... - served up by Ralphie @ 1:43 PM
