Is the American Left Run By the President of Iran?
Or are they just smoking the same stuff?
Not nearly enough attention is being paid to the released letter from Iranian President Ahmadinejad to President Bush. Read it. It’s scary. It reads like it could have been written by a Muslim version of Michael Moore or a hirsute Cindy Sheehan.
It rants about every liberal criticism of the West. I’m surprised it doesn’t mention pesticides or big tobacco. It’s a waking nightmare that this man will in a few years have the power to melt a city.
His letter begs for parody, but praise be to Allah, James Lileks beat me to it. It’s Lileks at his screedy knee-slapping best.
UPDATE: Here is another version of the translated letter that's easier to read.

That letter is frightening. He writes in a fairly organized and rational manner. He's not a psychopath-he's a fanatic. He believes for well-grounded reasons that the US is wrong and that there is no choice other than to erase Israel from the map in order to restore justice to the world.
And he will soon have the power to achieve this goal.
The parody is hysterical.

It's not just Israel, of course. He already has the missiles that can reach there. He also has the ones that can reach Europe. Guess what? He's now developing the ones that can reach the good ol' US of A.
Psychotoddler: That's exactly right. He's not crazy. Neither was Hitler. I can't stand it when people psychopathologize evil. The President of Iran is not mentally ill; he's evil.
Will he be stopped? I have no idea.
Ralphie: He may very well think that melting Tel Aviv would make the world, and Iran, a better place. I'm very worried that we're going to hand-wring and wait to find out if he'll go through with it.
