Pope Benedict: Jew Hater?
Of course not! But there's already a "storyline" to this effect out in the MSM. Print out this article and hand it to anyone who tells you the new pope was a member of Hitler Youth.

Here's more from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency:
Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, chosen as the new pope, was the brains behind Pope John Paul II’s reconciliation with the Jews, a Jewish official said.

Rabbi Israel Singer, chairman of the World Jewish Congress, called Ratzinger, who took the name of Pope Benedict XVI on Tuesday, 'the architect of the policy that John Paul II fulfilled with regard to relations with the Jews. He is the architect of the ideological policy to recognize, to have full relations with Israel.' Ratzinger, from Germany, succeeds John Paul, who died April 2. The Vatican’s chief theologian under John Paul, Ratzinger, 78, is considered a conservative. But in 2002, he authorized the publication of a report that stated that 'the Jewish messianic wait is not in vain.'

That document also expressed regret that certain passages in the Christian Bible condemning individual Jews have been used to justify anti-Semitism.
I'd like to read that Jerusalem Post artical but it's available to members only :(
Hmmm... I must've signed up a long time ago or something. But I never paid nothin', so I'm sure registration is free...
Yeah, the registration is free. The account is really easy to set up.
It's a relief to find out that the guy is not an anti-Semite. I was likewise misled by the allegations, and was worried. By the way, I was totally surprised that Ratzinger was elected after all those debates about Italian vs. African.
It's curious that they purposefully pick old Cardinals so that whoever is elected doesn’t serve for too long. That means that if there is someone who is excellent who is too young, he may not get a chance when he’s older depending on whether the excellent candidate or the current Pope dies first. It seems that the current method will always get people as their energy and skills are waning.

I’m very curious if anything has been written about Pope Benedict’s attitude towards Islam. I’m glad he’s warm and fuzzy to Jews, but that’s mostly because I’m a Jew. How a Church of 1 billion deals with the tens of millions of Jews is of interest to me, but how they deal with an increasingly aggressive Islam of 1 billion may shape the next century.
Frontpagemag writes that Benedict is the enemy of Jihad.
