Not to gloss over the obvious hopes for a speedy recovery for Chief Justice Rehnquist, but if you weren't already convinced of how important this election is, you should be now.

Thyroid cancer is usually treatable, and at his age is unlikely to shorten his life. For whatever it's worth...
True, although at 80, looking forward to cancer treatment, I'd say the odds of retirement for him are high. It doesn't get discussed much, but this election is bound to have a major impact on the make up of the Supreme Court for years to come.
